About the event
We’ll have a visitor in authentic military garb who will explain what life was like being a member of the 5th New York Militia during the Revolutionary War right here in the Hudson River valley! You will learn about uniforms, accutrements, communications, equipment, hardships, and so much more, especially who these people were and where they came from.
October 6, 1777 was an auspicious date — why? — what happened and where did it happen? Michael Graber, a retired florist and experienced local history buff, will be prepared to answer these questions and many more during this interactive session.
Please join us for an enlightening discussion — FREE and open to the public! In these tension-ridden times, what could be better than gathering with friends and neighbors in a relaxing atmosphere to learn about what was taking place in our backyards 250 years ago!
